Hi there, thanks for dropping in. I’m Fran. In my spare time I cogitate, I study, and I write.

I don’t have as much spare time as I’d like, though, as I’m a mum to a full on pre-schooler. I’m married to an awesome guy who works in the fashion industry (because that sounds way fancier than saying he works in retail at a clothing store). We live in Christchurch, NZ – that place quakes half destroyed throughout 2010-’12.

These days I’m getting back to basics; those things I’ve spent most of my adult life ignoring because my childhood scarred my perception of them: housework, cooking, gardening, and talking about the reality of the world around me.

Not that the last one of those is basic. Things are big and scary and crazy out there. I never dared to look at reality, life it was hard enough without looking. But now I have strategies that actually work to keep me from getting overwhelmed and depressed by it all. I realised, finally, that things need looking at, thinking about, and talking/writing about.

And so, welcome to my blog. Let’s discuss stuff.

Hey Fran πŸ™‚ I was just going through some old NaNoWriMo stuff from when you and I were both in Palmy, and found an info card on an old novel of yours! Apparently your novel that year was going to be about sharp objects, fuzzy bunnies (hopefully not combined with the sharp objects!), big words, romance, and penguins… hehe, wonder how many of those made it in! Anyway, thought I’d stop by and say hello. It’s good to hear how you’re going, and that you’re obviously enjoying it in Christchurch. πŸ™‚ Take care!
